Abstract

This is a review of the second collection of articles by Ljubov Kisseljova of Tartu University, in which she addresses some lesser-studied writers of the first third of the 19^th century (Alexander Shakhovskoi, Vasily Zhukovsky, etc.), and the question of how men of letters of the period contributed to the creation of the Russian state ideology.
